What is urban ecostyle? Like all great concepts, it started with a customer who had a need. In 2005 we received an email wanting to know if we could make a custom bedroom set. It just so happened at that same time we were experimenting with an exciting new material, 4′ x 8′ sheets of laminated bamboo strips. The bamboo was strong, easy to machine and it had an exotic appearance. Best of all, bamboo is a highly sustainable product due to its fast growth and harvest cycle. We wanted to know - was it possible to make high quality furniture from bamboo panels?

After some tinkering, we approached the customer with our idea - we’d make her bedroom set out of bamboo. Sometimes the planets align and everything just falls into place - the customer loved the idea, and was especially excited to hear that bamboo and the  finishes we were proposing were eco-friendly and non-toxic. And thus was created the first pieces of furniture in what was to become the L’Attitudes collection, and the beginnings of a new concept in furniture which we dubbed urban ecostyle furniture.

urban ecostyle is more than just beautifully designed furniture made from sustainably harvested, non-toxic materials. It is furniture perfectly suited for today’s urban lifestyle. Not fussy, not busy, not overbearing. urban ecostyle is about sensible proportions and clean modern lines perfectly suited to today’s urban living environments. urban ecostyle is about using ecologically responsible materials and manufacturing methods. And finally, urban ecostyle is about producing lasting value by making quality furniture that lasts generations, not big-box store stuff destined to go to a landfill in a couple years. All our furniture is designed and manufactured in the USA using the finest quality materials available and craftsmanship not seen in today’s mass-produced furniture.
